  Sleepy....

I think I am still sleeping.

Honestly, not sure whether I am dreaming that I am working in the office,
or that I am really in the office. And no, I would not pinch myself....it
might hurt.

Spent last weekend moving all over the KL. Managed to spend more than
RM100 on books, got 5 books...thanx to my loved ones that sacrificed their
time and vouchers...hehehe.

Also managed to complete the set of pearls that my friend requested for
her brother's 'hantaran'. Tapi aku lupa tangkap gambar, leh tak?? Well,
she promised that she will send me a pix of that later, suffice la.

All in all, a fruitful weekend.

Just managed to pay half of my bills, angka dah cecah half than my salary.
Mati loo....so most of the weekends need to stay at home laa.

Well, except coming weekend....and maybe the weekend after that....rasa
weekend after that too....

ARGGHHHH!!!!!

  TGIF

People are nowadays more health conscious. They are examining labels when
buying groceries and more are actually going to gyms.

Good behavioral changes, except in Malaysia the culture revolves more arnd
food and most of our food are either deep fried or well....fried. So, good
luck to all, and may the force (of not eating) be with us.

Just a few jokes taken from a forwarded email...

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste
them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart
will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life
of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and
corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an
efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain?
Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy
vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily
allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that
means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of
the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If
you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise
program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods are fried these days in vegetable
oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables
be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should
only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best
feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

In call conference meeting.....sambil dengar, sambil minum kopi, sambil tulis blog.

Crazy abt Full Metal Alchemist. Yeah, I know that it is an old anime (considering) but I had not managed to watch it til now. Already in episode 10, quite interesting...not those cute and lawak anime...more like sad and full of drama, with a few heartaches along the way. Nice tho.

In the mood for Japanese songs, Moonlight (Darker Than Black) and Tears of the Blue Sky (Blood+).

To all, Happy Valentine's day. Have fun!!

I love all of you....well mebe except a few. Don't care whether you love me back....I am hard to love...I know. :)

Nak cakap pasal Nasik Kandaq Penang lagik.

Kawan aku cakap Kassim Mustafa sedap. Aku leh la try next time balek Penang.
http://www.kassimmustafa.com/

But for me, usually nyer list yang family aku carik ;
1) Nasik Kandaq Kampung Melayu (dulu sedap, tapi sekarang dah kurang umph...).
2) Restoran Hameediyah (kat Campbell street. Ayam rose (kari ayam) and daging kurma dia fabulous. Adik aku suka kambing dia, shedaaaaapppp).
3) Line Clear (korang jalan ke atas skets dari Campbell strt, sampai ke simpang besar...tepi jalan ajer. Best on the telur ikan and telur sotong, tapi kari dia kurrrennng skets).
4) Nasik Kandaq tepi Masjid Kapitan Keling. (Nih recommended by paksu, aku tak penah makan lagik, tapi dia kata paling best. Bukan kedai yang besaq tu, tapi jalan kecik aja betul2 tepi masjid tuh. Paksu cakap leh beratur dekat 50 orang kalau ari jemaat kliwon).
5) Kayu Nasik Kandaq (area Penang Road...aku penah makan sekali, not bad.....gaks)

Actually, it is a known fact that Nasik Kandaq in Penang adalah lebih sedap dari nasik kandaq yang jual kat tempat lain. Sorang pakcik yg bukak catering cakap it is due to the ayaq kat Penang. Kalau dia sendiri masak kat tempat lain pun, without ayaq dari Penang....still tak sedap. Erm....ayaq mesti dari pulau nooo....dari seberang still tak best.

Nasik kandaq kat KL yang sedap.....ehmm.....yang kuah kari aku masak sendiri. Kekekeke. Masak pakai paket Kari Nasi Kandar by Maggi, tapi aku tak masukkan santan. Honestly, kat KL takder kari yg bebetul sedap cam kat Penang. Maybe aku bias, but I am a Penanglite....and makanan di Penang memang semua sedap-sedap.

:)

Currently listening to : Moonlight by Rie Fu. Sad and wonderful lyric.

"There’s never a time when I didn't think about you
There are nights when it feels like
I can’t catch hold of anything
There isn’t a day I don’t think about it
Hoping this hesitating heart would reach you "

Valentine's day nak mai lagik. Kali nih jatuh ari Sabtu minggu depan. Akan kaya la tuan punya restoran dan kedai juai bunga.

Kali nih, chek dah penat...bila mai V-day or B-day, asik dengaq teriak meraung dalam telepon, bukan apa...chek tak suka dengaq pompuan teriak. So kali nih, awai-awai chek nak bagitau, tawun nih chek nak lepaks kat umah aja. Bak kata kawan baik chek, "Buat apa nak celebrate just a few days per year?" Tapi chek rasa, dia lemaih perut sebab ramai yang runtun nak celebrate ngan dia, then suruh pulak dia belanja. Apa nak buat, dah hang tuh jantan....cuba kalau pompuan, tak larat la pulak nak makan bunga.

Planning chek, nak tengok tiwi, baca buku ceghita, makan cekelat, main internet kaaa. Kalau ada kawan-kawan (pompuan saja) yang bosan and ajaq chek kluaq, mebe la chek kluaq. Lagik pulak, celebration V-day nih hanya propaganda Barat untuk mengkayakan sistem korporasi diorang. Sapa yang gatai start V-day nih? US dan kroni dia la. Kat barat sana mana ada banyak perayaan macam kita, so shopping malls kena la buat perayaan supaya barang-barang diorang laku. So, buat apa nak ikut diorang?

Satu lagik, la nih tengah kegawatan ekonomi...tak macam depa yang kaya-raya tu...chek nih takat cukup makan pakai saja. Lagi pulak, chek nih jenis pengesian, macam la jantan-jantan tuh takdak mak bapak, adik-beradik nak sara. Asik nak makan menda mahai saja. Cuba-cuba la sekali sekala makan aiskrim Lion perisa oren tuh, nih asik nak demand McFlurry Oreos saja.

Oso, kawan chek dah cakap, harga sedozen bunga ros dah mencapai harga ratus ringgit. Mak aii, tuh la dulu patut chek bukak ladang bunga. Kepada kekawan jantan chek, chek jumpa kat Jalan Mesjid India and kat Dios Puchong, RM10 leh dapat 3 pokok bunga plastik. Hampa beli, balut ngan tissue paper, then bagi kat gf korang. Kalau pompuan-pompuan tuh hingaq, cakap aja la bunga plastik leh tahan lama, untuk mengingati kisah cinta yang semoga berpanjangan. Mesti cayaq la diorang.

Jangan la rasa kecik hati kat chek no...chek cuma bagitau chek tak celebrate saja. Chek nak duduk rumah saja. Hmmm...maybe pagi tuh chek kluaq jap ngan Boocheeboo to market...

Kepada kawan-kawan chek (again, pompuan sahaja) yang tak nak celebrate tuh, kalau bosan sangat, leh call chek...chek leh buat banyak aktiviti kat korang. (Contoh, pegi shopping groceries, kuak katak dalam pool, blajaq masak kek batek, mop rumah chek). Tapi FCFS (First come, first serve) la.

Selamat Menyambut Hari Valentine (to whom that plans to celebrate).

(I am not targeting brand names as below, only that they are some of the very famous names that are flying around in emails right now)

Lately byk benor aku dapat email pasal boikot and jangan boikot barangan syarikat yang contribute to Israel's economy.

We have the left extremists and right activists yang asik bergaduh pasal menda nih. And then, si McD siap buat flyers bagi kat customers bagitau diorang under McD Malaysia dan tak contribute to Israel. Yang si KFC pulak siap antar email bagitau diorg under KFC Holdings and also tak contribute to Israel, the owner siap nak beli KFC U.S. lagik. Betul ke idak, aku tatau. Tapi, below are some info on franchising yang aku amik dari internet.

Taken from http://money.howstuffworks.com/franchising1.htm
What is Franchising?

Imagine that you're opening your own McDonald's. To do this, you have to buy a McDonald's franchise. In order to qualify for a conventional franchise, you have to have $250,000 (not borrowed). Your total costs to open the restaurant, however, will be anywhere from $685,750 to $1,504,000, which goes to paying for the building, equipment, etc. Forty percent of this cost has to be from your own (non-borrowed) funds.

You'll pay an initial franchise fee of $45,000 directly to McDonald's. The other costs go to suppliers, so this is the only upfront fee you pay to McDonald's. Then, you'll go through a rigorous nine-month training period where you'll learn about the McDonald's way of doing things -- things like their standards for quality, service, value, formulas and specifications for menu items, their method of operation, and inventory control techniques. You'll have to agree to operate the restaurant from a single location, usually for 20 years, following their guidelines for decor, signage, layout and everything else that makes McDonald's McDonald's.

Once you've completed training and are ready to go, McDonalds will offer you a location they've already developed. The exterior of the building will be complete, but you will have to take care of interior additions such as kitchen equipment, seating and landscaping. You'll get constant support from a McDonald's Field Consultant, who can advise you on details and will visit regularly. You'll pay McDonald's a monthly fee of 4 percent of your sales, and either a flat base rent or a percentage rent of at least 8.5 percent of your sales. How much money you make depends on many things, including the location and its popularity, the efficiency of your operating costs, and your ability to manage and control the business.

Think of franchising as paying someone for his or her business strategy, marketing strategy, operations strategy, and the use of his or her name. That's pretty much what franchising is -- you are establishing a relationship with a successful business so you can use its systems and capitalize on its existing brand awareness in order to get a quicker return on your own investment. You are using its proven system and name, and running it by its rules. Are you still your own boss? In some respects, no. You still have to answer to someone else and follow his or her direction. You don't really own the business; you own the assets you've purchased in order to establish the business.

http://www.thefranchisemall.com/franchises/details/10004-0-KFC.htm
How much does it cost to open a KFC Franchises?
Total Investment: $1,100,000-$1,700,000
Initial Franchise Fee: $25,000
Royalty Fee: 4%
Advertising Fee: Term of Agreement: 20 years
Renewal Fee: $4.9K

Some people told me that the franchisee only pay the initial amount, all the rest of the profits would be kept by the franchisee. Bullshit la. Aku dulu minor in business...and we DO learn about franchising. It is bad business if you give your name and do not expect anything else from your partner.

So based on the franchising rules, I would say that all the U.S. franchisebase (yeah, even the McD Malaysia and KFC Holdings) DO CONTRIBUTE to the Israel's war. How? By giving monthly percentage of their profits to the franchiser, which pay tax to the U.S government, which pays for the military and other aids to the Israelites. Do not believe me? The linx are as below...

http://www.washington-report.org/backissues/0296/9602046.html

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/01/16/gaza_invasion/

http://www.jewishsf.com/content/2-0-/module/displaystory/story_id/19954/edition_id/407/format/html/displaystory.html

So, by buying McD, KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, A&W and other U.S. franchises, we DO in fact contribute to the slayings of the Palestines.

Btw, Starbucks is NOT a franchise. So all the direct contributions by the CEO and tax money to the U.S government, are paid by us.
http://www.starbucks.com/customer/faq_qanda.asp?name=common
http://franchises.businessmart.com/how-much-does-a-starbucks-franchise-cost.php

To boikot or not to boikot? It's all up to YOU.

I already give you the information, so make an informed decision.

(If anyone have the exact franchise information that state the franchisee DO NOT give monthly profit percentage to the franchiser, kindly post it in the comments. I would love to debunk my own writings on this issue).

  Pasar Borong Selangor

Last Sunday, after too many times of consideration and hee-hawing, we
managed to wake up early and went off to the market....ehm...THE Pasar
Borong Selangor.

Actually Pasar Borong Selangor is the place to buy fresh/dry produce in
bulks. However, they do sell retail on the side. The market is segregated
to 2 parts, the wet and dry market. The wet market itself is segregated
into various parts, the seafood, the chicken/meat and the vegetables. The
dry market sells fruits and all the dry goods.

The Pasar Borong Selangor is open 24 hours, but the produce itself are not
on sale all the time. For eg, the dry market only opens from 7 am onwards.
Will try to get the timing and posted it later.

Overall, it is ok to buy fresh seafood or chicken/meat. But the non-leaf
vege like carrot, tomato, broccoli and cauliflower are by far cheaper in
Carrefour(Car4) and Tesco.

Since we are not shoppers by default, so are not really sure the current
price of items. But the seafood and chicken are really fresh. Tho, i think
due to the current wet season, the seafood is a tad expensive. (Also, some
people had commented that the price during weekend are a bit more
expensive than week days).

We managed to buy chicken (RM5.80 perkg), squids (RM12 per kg), selar fish
(RM9.50 per kg) and some vegetables.

I would recommend that you go round and compare the prices before start
buying. Some seller are a bit cheaper than others.

By the way, parking price is RM1.

Below are the maps to Pasar Borong Selangor.

The race of man shall perish, but the eyes
Of trilobytes eternal in stone,
And seem to stare about in mild surprise
At changes greater than they have yet known.

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
