Malaysia is going to celebrate 50 years of independence this year. Merdeka! Merdeka!! Merdeka!!! But sad to say, many people are still so hang up about racism. Apa laaaa. I know a lot of Chinese and Indian friends and neighbours that had stood by us all these time. Also quite a number of Sarawakian and Sabahan that are very true to their friendship. (Not forgotten some very hot Iban and Dayak guys. No wonder la that semester I suddenly gain many new lady friends. But, being very cheeky...sajer jer aku tanya kat diorang sedap ker idak biawak. Kah kah kah...pucat muka girls tuh. Jawapannya? Sedap, taste like chicken!!) The thing is, for us to put our feel of racial superiority aside and just be honest in our dealings with friends/neighbours. Tolerate our differences and quirkiness. Besides, the differences are what made us unique....made Malaysia unique. Even during our Prophet Mohammad's time, he had practised toleration towards other race and religions. This is our only planet, if we ourselves cannot exist in harmony side by side....who else can? Being a lady that have various races DNA and living in Penang, I have a very high tolerance level to other races. I went to Thaipusam festival, attend the Chingays, lepaks to see the Chinese Opera during the Hungry Ghost festival, watch the long boat race, main mercun during CNY and Deepavali, kena kejar by a dog during house to house Raya Puasa's money gathering activities, etc. Hey, they are practically my family. On my mum's, pa's and grandparent's side. I love them. Why can't you? 2 Comments:hahaha... gue pun dari penang.. asimilasi dari sana buat saya pun tak kekok bila bermasyarakat :)
hahaha, memang butui.

The race of man shall perish, but the eyes

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. - William Blake, excerp from Auguries of Innocence. |
